A dazzling successor to the iconic 458 Italia, the 488 debuted in 2015 and set a new bar for V-8 performance for Ferrari. Both its interior and exterior were refinements of an already stunning design and added more cutting-edge technology. A 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V-8 engine generated a formidable 661 horsepower. Improved aerodynamics increased downforce by 50 per cent over the 458, with the help of variable flap geometry and scalloped side air intakes.

In 2018, Ferrari elevated the 488 with the introduction of the “special series” 488 Pista. With design cues influenced by the track-only 488 GTE and 488 Challenge, the Pista is a lightweight marvel that shed excess mass and gained additional power from the same V-8 engine. Producing an awe-inspiring 710 horsepower and 568 pounds-feet of torque it became the most powerful V-8 at that point in Ferrari history, capable of 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.85 seconds. Side-Slip Control (SSC 6.0) and Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer improved driving and dynamics and brake feel by automatically modulating the carbon-ceramic brakes for greater control and predictability. Moreover, the front of the car incorporates the S-Duct, a Formula 1-derived aerodynamic feature that increases downforce, a first for a roadgoing Ferrari.

Released at the 2018 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the 488 Pista Spider was also notable for being the 50th convertible model developed by Ferrari and featured the same ingenious folding hardtop as found on the regular 488 Spider. Exclusively offered to the company’s most highly regarded clientele, the Pista Spider kept a focus on performance, shedding more than 90 kilograms when compared to its open-top 488 brother.

This 488 Pista Spider features a truly remarkable matte colour scheme of Grigio Silverstone Opaco and a Rosso Mugello Opaco racing livery combined with various Matte Red carbon fibre elements, 20-inch Gold forged wheels, and Glossy Black brake callipers—a truly striking combination. The interior mimics the exterior theme with Matte Red carbon fibre elements throughout plus other details in Bordeaux, including select dash trim and the leather inserts, contrast stitching, and Cavallino logos on the size-large Daytona racing seats, which are upholstered in black Alcantara.

Numerous desirable options improve comfort and convenience, including a suspension lifter, adaptive front lighting system, fire extinguisher, heat-insulating windscreen, electrochromic mirrors, navigation system with Bluetooth, front and rear parking cameras, seat lifter, high-power audio system, and a spare wheel.

Serviced in September 2025 and now offered with just 6,252 kilometres from new, this striking 488 Pista Spider represents a truly remarkable opportunity to acquire one of Ferrari’s most superlative V-8 supercars ever produced in a specification unlikely to be repeated.
